INQ28 - Homine Piscis

A classic fishman, as needed by all right thinking scifi games.

This one is converted from a Reaper bones figure, with Kroot arms, various Eldar bitz, and a gun made from a number of sources. (including a Marine autopistol from when they had such things)

I am still undecided if I should give him a breathing tank of some sort, and if he needs a technological lamp to go with his organic one.

The Bones material does not photograph very well, being stark white and slightly translucent in extremities, but it is super easy to convert, as a sharp knife will remove any unwanted details (in this case his original arms).  I have only started to paint a Bones figure, so I can not say how easy it is over all, but it seems to take paint like normal, and of course it is super light and flexible.

Any thoughts on colors?

I like the conversion. With regards to breathing gear, it depends on how you view the fishmen's evolution.

Are they fish that have evolved and learned to breathe air -- like life moved up onto land on earth -- yet retaining their fishlike appearances? Then they need no breathing apparatus.

Or are they fish that have evolved and developed civilization under water, coming up occasionally? Then he definitely needs some breathing gear. I would suggest a tank on the back and a couple of hoses to the gills, leaving the mouth free.

hmm good point about the evolutionary aspect. With hands and legs, it makes sense that he lives out of the water, and yet he retains gills...

Still undecided.

Any thoughts on the lamp?

They could also be cybernetically altered. I think I would keep it as is.
